Bernd Becher and Gezeichnete Antiqua

Languages are not one of my strengths and German has always been a blind spot. Yet once I visited that country, went to Heidelberg and the Gutenberg-Museum in Mainz. That’s where I reckon I picked up a booklet called Staatliche Kunstakademie Dusseldorf (n.d) in which comes this typeface. It is credited to Bernd Becher, of whom I knew nothing until I trawled the internet, to learn that he was an acclaimed photographer (along with his wife, Hilla) and studied typography from 1957 to 1961 at the Kunstakademie.
